The Gîte de la Forge is a 4-star gîte. This pretty stone house is located in a typical village. It offers two bedrooms with bathrooms, one with a sauna, as well as a swimming pool with a superb view.

Located at the foot of the Grand Colombier, 20 minutes from Lac du Bourget and one hour from Geneva and Lyon, our gîte is ideally placed for sports enthusiasts of all kinds: road cycling, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, water sports, horse riding, etc.

Food lovers and wine enthusiasts will find their happiness in the Bugey vineyards and restaurants, whether Michelin-starred establishments or family restaurants serving local specialities.

Are pets allowed?

All our gîtes are pet friendly, except for the spa suite.

Can we book the spa?

By booking one of our gîtes, you will be able to book a spa session (see conditions).

What brand is the coffee machine?

Our gîtes are equipped with a Senseo coffee machine and a traditional coffee maker.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is by 10 am at the latest.

How does our arrival work?

The day before your stay, you will receive a text message from Sarah with all the details.

Is linen provided?

As in a hotel, everything is included for your comfort, except beach towels.

I broke a glass, what should I do?

Our policy is to trust our guests: we count on them to replace anything broken during the stay with an identical item.

Are the pools heated?

Our pools are heated by the sun, except for the indoor spa pool.

Het was fantastisch we hebben zo genoten. De binnentuin was mooier dan op de foto’s zoveel sfeer.

De slaapkamers vond ik ook erg mooi en sfeervol ingericht.

Het bed lag goed ook mooi opgemaakt.
Het is een sfeervolle oude plek.
Het zwembad was heerlijk we hadden een aantal warme dagen.

De omgeving is erg mooi.

Sarah en Claude zijn erg vriendelijk we voelden ons erg welkom.

De kans is groot dat we nog eens terug gaan ook om Sarah en Claude weer te ontmoeten🥂

Le gîte de Sarah et Claude est un véritable havre de paix ! Très cosy et confortable – parfait pour se détendre.

Le jardin et la piscine sont magnifiques, et vous êtes idéalement situés pour découvrir le meilleur de la région si vous décidez de sortir.

Sarah nous a accueillis à notre arrivée et a été très gentille et serviable.

Le gîte de la forge est un endroit très agréable, situé dans un petit village calme et paisible au milieu des montagnes du Bugey.

Le Grand Colombier à 30min, Aix-les-Bains à 45min et Annecy à 1h, vous aurez une multitude d’activités et de randonnées à proximité.

Le gîte est composé d’un salon/séjour avec poêle à granulés, de 2 grandes chambres avec grands lits et TV, de 2 sdb et d’un sauna. Les hôtes Sarah et Claude sont fantastiques de générosité, d’accueil et de chaleur humaine. Ils sauront vous conseiller sur les activités à proximité et répondront toujours présents.

Si vous recherchez un moment de détente, vous pouvez réserver le somptueux espace spa, sauna et piscine intérieure de Sarah et Claude, ce lieu est juste grandiose.

Un énorme merci pour la semaine passée dans votre gîte, nous avons adoré la région, le logement et votre sympathie.

We had a fabulous stay – Sarah was waving at us as we drove up!

The house was perfect for us and our 2 little doggies.

Die Unterkunft bietet eine großartige Pool Aussicht und einen schönen Außenbereich, der sich perfekt zum Grillen eignet.

Die Vermieter waren ausgesprochen freundlich und haben uns mit liebevollen Gastgeschenken überrascht. Zudem standen uns ein Kinderstuhl und ein Babybett zur Verfügung.

Die Lage ist ruhig und ideal, um zu entspannen.

Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind zwar nicht fußläufig erreichbar, lassen sich jedoch mit dem Auto in weniger als 10 Minuten erreichen.

le gîte de Sarah et Claude à beaucoup de cachet que ce soit l’intérieur de la maison, la cour ou l’espace piscine. la literie est excellente. i

l est également très agréable de trouver un coin à l’ombre ou au soleil selon nos envies tout au long de la journée. la piscine avec cette vue magnifique est ensoleillée en fin de journée ce qui est très agréable après les belles randonnées à faire dans les alentours.

Le seul bémol si on essaye d’en trouver 1 c’est le manque de hotte dans la cuisine et de vrai four (mini four/micro-ondes)

Wir kamen rein und haben uns direkt wie Zuhause gefühlt! Die nette Einrichtung, der schöne Innenhof und der tolle Pool haben uns verzaubert.

Die Ausstattung ist absolut ausreichend und alle wichtigen Geräte sind vorhanden. Besonders cool ist der Grill, den man sogar an regnerischen Tagen unter dem überdachten Bereich des Hofes nutzen kann. Man kann sich rundum wohlfühlen und toll entspannen in der wunderschönen Unterkunft.

In der Umgebung kann man vielen verschiedene Aktivitäten nachgehen und die tolle Natur genießen.

Auch Abendspaziergänge kann man direkt vom Haus aus starten. Ein absolut gelungener Urlaub!

Sarah and Claude were very welcoming even before we arrive.

They welcomed us at the check-in giving us a lovely gift, plent of tips, instructions on how stuffs worked in the house, etc We spend Christmas week and the house had everything we needed to cook, the rooms were big and comfortable.

We do recommend staying at Les Gites de la Forge.

Wir hatten mit unseren Kindern und unserem Hund eine wundervolle Zeit in diesem traumhaften Haus. Die Gegend haben wir ehrlich gesagt nur gewählt, weil uns das Haus so gut gefiel und es hätte besser nicht sein können: sehr liebe, zuvorkommende Gastgeber mit den besten Tipps für die Gegend, ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus, eine Sauna und ein Pool, den unsere Kinder sogar im Oktober noch genutzt haben ( ehrlich gesagt mit eher kurzen Badezeiten ;-)), ein charmanter Ort mit Gin- Destillerie, Wasserfälle in der Nähe, …. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, da es sooo viel zu entdecken gibt. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Zeit!

They also organised an appointment for us with a local vet in preparation for our return journey to the UK. The accommodation is as it appears in the photos, both bedrooms are very spacious with really comfortable beds and great ensuites. The pool is beautiful, a little fresh in September but still enjoyable.

The village is very pretty and peaceful, shops and restaurants are all within a short driving distance. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep too, if you don’t want to drive or venture too far.

A wonderful cozy cottage in a small village, perfect for those travelling by car.

The pool has a great view, exactly like in the photo, and is also quite deep (I think 2+ metres), which is quite rare. If you want to go for a longer swim, there is also a lake beach nearby, it’s just a 10-min drive. It’s a sand beach and there’s a lot of shade under the trees.

Likewise, the shop (Carrefour Contact) is a short drive away and has a good selection of food and other stuff. There is also a distillery and wineries nearby, which we however did not visit.

Not far away there is a peak of the Grand Colombier (1500m), which is reachable directly by car and has great views. You can also take a walk around the hills there and see cows on alpine pastures. The place seems to be quite popular, so be quick –

we reserved the cottage 1 year before the visit so were able to use it for the 6 days we wanted.

Both Claude and Sarah are extremely friendly and communicative (both in French and in English).

Charmant petit gîte, tant à l’intérieur (confortable, complet et propre), qu’à l’extérieur (courette + cour joliment fleurie, sans oublier ce petit coin piscine très agréable et si paisible).

Il est idéalement situé, tant pour se reposer que pour visiter cette région merveilleuse. Mon mari n’a jamais autant dormi le matin 😉 Aucune difficulté pour se garer.

vriendelijke eigenaren, goed Engels, behulpzaam en 1 maal lekker gekookt voor ons van het beschikbare menu. zwembad wel wat fris maar lekker (was ook al oktober). mooie wandelroutes en mooi rijgebied. rustige omgeving.

tips ter verbetering: afzuigkap in keuken, iets meer pannen met deksel, een stoel extra met meer comfort zou fijn zijn. maar het weer was fantastisch 1.5 week zomer van de 2 weken. we zouden nog een keet 1 van de andere gites kunnen boeken in de toekomst

Super séjour chez Sarah et Claude. La cheminée très agréable, le salon cocooning, le sauna pour se détendre et le jardin pour un bon barbecue ou profiter avec les chiens qui sont acceptés. Dans cette maison je me suis sentie très très bien. Dommage que la piscine n’est pas été chauffée. Mais quelles belles prestations. C’est un havre de paix et de serenite..

les hôtes sont très serviables et agréables et réactifs.
