We literally fell in love with this traditional Bugey house dating from 1890 in its final form as we know it today, and with its 4,000-square-metre garden bordered by two rivers (the Groin and the Séran).

A few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village of Artemare, where you will find all the shops you need (café, bank, bakeries, butcher and supermarket…), the Gîte de la Cascade is ideal for holidays with family, friends or both.

Its fully private swimming pool and its treetop course will delight your children, who can enjoy the grounds to the full while you take time to relax in the shade of a tree in complete tranquillity.

Are pets allowed?

All our gîtes are pet friendly, except for the spa suite.

Can we book the spa?

By booking one of our gîtes, you will be able to book a spa session (see conditions).

What brand is the coffee machine?

Our gîtes are equipped with a Senseo coffee machine and a traditional coffee maker.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is by 10 am at the latest.

How does our arrival work?

The day before your stay, you will receive a text message from Sarah with all the details.

Is linen provided?

As in a hotel, everything is included for your comfort, except beach towels.

I broke a glass, what should I do?

Our policy is to trust our guests: we count on them to replace anything broken during the stay with an identical item.

Are the pools heated?

Our pools are heated by the sun, except for the indoor spa pool.

Our stay here was absolutely lovely, we came with two young children and they had a fantastic time playing in the excellent pool. Sarah was super helpful and responsive.

We endured a heatwave up to 36 degrees but the house stayed nice and cool and we were thankful for the shady garden.

We enjoyed exploring the nearby lakes and incredible scenery, would love to come back again!

We stayed here in the hottest May bank holiday on record , the pool was beautiful and a god send.

The house is also beautiful nicely decorated and has everything you need. The garden has well placed seating areas for sun worshippers and if you wish to sit in the shade .

Our favourite were the swing seats down by the stream, after a long hot day it’s really relaxing listening to the stream and birds. The garden is fenced but down by the stream if you take dogs and have escape artists like ours 😬 they can get into next doors garden through the stream.

You have a nice walk into town where there is a supermarket, petrol station & pharmacy.

Sarah met us at the house when we arrived and is very friendly and helpful. All in all a great holiday stay ❤︎

Eine farbenfrohe Herbstwoche in Artemare, wie man sie sich wünscht: ein wunderschönes Haus, ein zauberhafter Garten und totale Ruhe.

Sarahs warmherzige Begrüssung, schnelle Hilfsbereitschaft und die liebevollen Details – Begrüssungssekt, Blumenstäusse – haben uns gefreut und unseren Aufenthalt besonders gemacht. Auch perfekt für Hundebesitzer, direkt ab Haus führen Wege durch wunderschöne Wälder.

Die Umgebung bietet Natur und charmante kleine Städte in unmittelbarer Nähe.

La casa è molto bella e offre tanti servizi che possono essere sfruttati appieno durante il periodo primaverile/estivo.

I miei amici ed io abbiamo soggiornato nel periodo di Capodanno ma ci siamo trovati comunque molto bene. Sarah e Claude sono stati molto accoglienti e disponibili. Hanno risolto in brevissimo tempo un problema legato all’esaurimento della bombola del gas e ci hanno offerto, pure, una bottiglia di vino.

Alloggio consigliato, immerso in una zona super tranquilla ma dalla quale si possono raggiungere in poche ore di macchina grandi centri abitati come Lione e Annecy.

Ci piacerebbe tornare nel periodo estivo per usufruire anche degli altri servizi offerti dalla struttura! 10/10!

Tolle Unterkunft, welche insbesondere durch den unglaublich Aussenbereich und Garten punktet. Wunderschön angelegt, toller Pool, eigener Seilpark, kleine Rutschbahn, Trampolin. Gemacht für schönes Wetter.

Die Zimmer sind schön und grosszügig.

Küche ist funktionell und pragmatisch ausgestattet.

Im Innern befindet sich ein steile Treppe, das muss man im Kopf behalten, je nach Zusammenstellung der Reisenden.

Wir haben 14 Tage bei Sarah und Claude verbracht und es war toll. Das Haus ist super in Schuss, zwei Bäder plus Sauna plus Pool sind ein toller Luxus und die Größe der Unterkunft lässt auch für drei oder vier Erwachsene mal einen Schlechtwettertag zu.

Weil wir gerne selbst kochen, hätte die Küche etwas mehr Arbeitplatz haben dürfen, aber die Ausstattung ist gut. Die Unterkunft ist eine große Empfehlung für alle, die zum Wandern, Radfahren oder andere Outdoor-Aktivitäten in die Region kommen, Sarah und Claude können dafür und für Restaurants tolle Tipps geben und sind sehr zuvorkommende Gastgeber – wir schätzen neben ihrer Freundlichkeit vor allem, wie unkompliziert der Aufenthalt mit zwei Hunden war.

Die Verständigung, sowohl vorab, als auch vor Ort, war super einfach, weil beide Englisch sprechen.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit bei Sarah und Claude im Haus. Beide sind sehr freundlich und haben uns persönlich im Haus begrüßt und uns alles gezeigt und uns Tips für die Umgebung gegeben. Die Kinder haben das Trampolin, den eigenen kleinen Hochseilgarten mit Seilrutsche und besonders den Pool sehr zu schätzen gewusst. Das Haus liegt ruhig und privat. Zu Fuß erreichbar gibt es aber einen leckeren Bäcker, einen Supermarkt und einige Restaurants.

Sehr sympathische Gastgeber mit zeitnaher und klarer Kommunikation.

WLAN hat nicht funktioniert (kann vorkommen und lag nicht an den Gastgebern sondern am Dienstleister), es wurde aber eine Alternative in der Nähe organisiert damit man auch im Homeoffice arbeiten konnte.

Alles sehr unkompliziert und herzlich.

Une maison superbe avec un jardin grandiose entre piscine, acrobranche, et badminton, nous avons eu de quoi nous occuper!

Parfait pour notre séjour avec 2 chiens. La literie est confortable, les chambres sont très jolies, les échanges avec Sarah ont été très sympathiques et réactifs, nous reviendrons c’est sûr!

We had a beautiful time at Sarah and Claude’s. It’s such an idyllic setting for a family getaway.

We were more than comfortable with two families with two kids and an infant between us. The surrounding property is what really makes the stay magical – we ate outside every morning and evening, had a lovely time in the pool, and the kids loved the trampoline and zip line. Our days were spent visiting the mountains, a nearby waterfall, and a local festival recommended by Sarah. I

t was peaceful and delightful and we all hope to have the chance to return.

In 15 years we travel as family, this has been one of the (maybe even) the most stunning house rentals in all those years.

Pictures cannot describe the beauty of 4000sqm Garden framed by two small rivers, with all types of extras incl a scenery Pool, perfect to simply relax. The rooms have been renovated with taste and attention to Detail.

The house lies in an area less well known (At least to us).that might explain why the house is reasonably priced and yet there is so much to discover.

It was a wonderful stay in a lovely cottage with attentive hosts. Everything is there which you need for daily purposes.

The region is interesting for discoverer, sport enthusiasts, wine lovers or for people who wants to relax a little bit.

There are a lot of pets around you which cross your way when you walk the dogs. Special thanks to our hosts that we could bring our dogs with us, that’s not self-evident.

Claude et Sarah sont des hôtes exceptionnels. Tout a commencé par un accueil très chaleureux. Puis visite du gite décoré avec beaucoup de gout. Le petit plus : nous avons eu le droit à de bonnes adresses pour se balader ou remplir notre cave. Les restaurants étant malheureusement fermés nous n’avons pas eu la chance de nous rendre à une table locale mais je suis sur que Claude et Sarah ont de très bonnes adresses à conseiller. Le gite est idéalement situé. Le village offre les commerces nécessaires pour s’approvisionner sans prendre la voiture. Pour les teletravailleur le spot est ideal.
