The house was built in the 1890, we chose it for it’s lovely garden which is surrounded on two sides by the Seran and the Groin (rivers). 5 minutes walk from the center of ARTEMARE, a pretty village where you will find everything you need (boulangerie, restaurants, bank, shops…) this is the place where you can relax, forget your car and your children will rediscover the delights of tree climbing, paddling in the river and enjoying the pool while you are enjoying a glace of wine under a tree.

300 meters from the Cascade de Cerveyrieu (waterfall) and with direct access to the fierloz nature reserve, the walks are endless and the area perfect for cyclists.
At the foot of the grand Colombier (Tour de France), 12 miles from the lac du Bourget, an hour from Geneva and Lyon; you will find lots of activities for you and your family.

It’s a wonderful place for families, children and dogs!!!

Merveilleux! Great stay in beautiful house
What a fabulous holidays we had in Chavornay. Wonderful house with fantastic view ! Such a great welcoming by Sarah & Claude who really want their guests to feel home, enjoy holidays and get to know l’Ain & surroundings. We were lucky to enjoy gîte de l’école last year and fully enjoyed being in gîte Colombier this time. Clean and clear house, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, big living room and last-but-not-least a wonderful covered terrace where we spent lots of great moments with our kids and friends. Sarah & Claude do share all good ideas to organize activities, hiking, biking and “good life”. We would highly recommend to spend time there. Leaving is not easy, but is full of beautiful memories. Merci Sarah & Claude pour votre accueil chaleureux dans ce magnifique endroit. Tout était présent pour passer de merveilleuses vacances: piscine, jardin, vue, 4 chambres, salle de bains, cuisine équipée, grand séjour, magnifique terrasse couverte avec vue imprenable. Vivement à conseiller!

gemütliche, rustikale Landvilla mit schönem Pool und Blick über Wein und Berge

Ein liebevoll rustikal erhaltenes Haus mit allem, was braucht. Wir sind 2 Familien mit 6 kleinen Kindern und für uns war es die perfekte Unterkunft. Ein Garten zum Spielen mit Spielgeräten und Pool. Wir genossen das Kochen, Backen, Grillen und auf der gekiesten Terrasse essen. Die lieben Vermieter hatten viele wunderbare Tipps für Unternehmungen: ein schöner Wasserfall, Picknick auf dem Grand Colombier bei Sonnenuntergang, Bootsfahrt auf dem Kanal von Chanaz mit Baden im Lac du Burget, Wunderbares Essen im “Le Belvedere”, eine Weinverkostung mit der Vermieterin bei dem benachbarten Winzer… Bei Fragen oder Problemen war sofort jemand da. Alles perfekt.

« We drove to our gîte, expecting something nice, but found something even better: a really extraordinary, superb place to stay. The accommodation was spotless, the interior very new in a refurbished old house with character, tastefully furbished with all the little details done right. The surrounding is stunning: We had a huge garden for ourselves, a nice pool, and even our own little “beach” at the creek which our dog loved! There are cute little places to sit and chill out all around the garden. And with your very own wine cellar, stocked with regional wines – what could possibly go wrong? As a family we also welcomed the laundry facilities. The owners of the gîte were responding promptly to my messages, welcomed us warmly upon arrival and explained everything. To sum it up: We would book again without hesitation and are excited we found this place. Thank you, Sarah and Claude, for your hospitality! »

Tres bon acceuil !

Pas la peine d aller au bout du monde ! Nous avons trouve ce que tous nous avions besoin a 50 mn de chez nous calme espace piscine barbecue ! Ce qui nous rassure nous avons encore 3 gites a découvrir !

Beautiful location, super house, private pool.
A super house with loads of space and games for young families inside the house and outside. We had a great welcome from Sarah and some lovely local produce in the kitchen for our arrival. There were a few beetle type insects in the bedroom the first night, but once we removed them no others appeared. The pool was brilliant, about 20 degrees (early October!) and not overlooked … only by the Grand Columbier! Ideal and beautiful location for any cyclist wanting to ride one of the Tours regular routes. The views from the top were just magical … breathtaking … out of this world. The garden is not secure, it’s open to a neighbours vegetable patch and another neighbours small vineyard. The advert ‘facilities’ lists not only things at the house eg swimming pool, but also things you can do in the area eg sauna, massage, kayak etc. The figs from the tree in the garden were ripe delicious. A quiet walk (1.5 miles) down a quiet track, steep in part, gets you into the village of Artemare with a boulangerie, Carrefour Contact, butcher and restaurants (we can recommend Le Seran for a lovely meal). Sarah and Claude were perfect and responded promptly to our enquiries. Without question, we would stay there again.

Met een groep vrienden een week mogen verblijven in dit fantastische huis. Zo is vakantie bedoeld. Alles tip top in orde en schoon. Super service van Sarah. Aanrader in een prachtige rustieke en rustige omgeving.

Prachtige woning
Super verblijf! Prachtig terras waar we veel tijd doorgebracht hebben. Sarah en Claude zijn bovendien heel fijne mensen. Dat samen met het mooie (fiets)weer maakt dat we met onze 8 fietsers een topvakantie hadden!

Wonderful place
We spent a lovely time in this Gite. Beautiful views, great pool, lovely walks from the house. Very well located in a calm and very peaceful village with an absolutely stunning view. Great activities nearby ! I eagerly recommend. Thank you very much to Sarah and Claude !!
